GO! South Bay Vendors Among Many Participating at L.A. LIVE’s Downtown Dark Nights on Fri 6/3 … Kick off the Summer in DTLA!

I get it. Downtown Los Angeles is NOT the South Bay. After all, who really wants to venture outside of the bubble, and head to DTLA (and if you don’t know already, DTLA stands for Downtown Los Angeles!). Since I divide my time between the South Bay and DTLA, I get the pleasure of enjoying both worlds — vastly different, while at the same time, closely similar — surprising, huh?

Well, this Friday, my worlds collide. On June 3 @ 6-11pm, I am co-producing my 12th FREE community event at L.A. LIVE called Downtown Dark Nights, and this time, we have at least three of our vendors from the South Bay! Join us and be sure to support LOCAL by visiting these vendors when you come Downtown!

Here are the three South Bay locals who will be among the 40 vendors at Downtown Dark Nights!

DANE CAPO ART: A native of Hermosa Beach, California, 20-year-old Dane Capo is an artist who began painting four years ago. His world of bold color often features images of his favorite people — from famous musicians like the Beatles and Bob Dylan to artists like Matisse to family members. A world traveler, to date, he has also visited 37 U.S. states – his goal is to visit all fifty. An artist who also happens to have autism and epilepsy, his mom Krista Capo shares that “One day Dane just decided to start painting.” Learn more about Dane and his artwork by visiting his website at www.danecapo.com and by clicking HERE.

SHAY CANDLES: A long-time South Bay local who often sells in Redondo Beach’s Riviera Village, Rachez Miller makes the most amazing coconut wax candles that she mixes using unique fragrances and hand-pours into her decorated jars and tins. They burn for hours, and have the most heavenly scents! Follow this Roller Derby mom and her Shay Candles on Instagram!

SOAP SEAS: In 2015, artisan Christine Wennstrom began making and selling her small batches of handcrafted natural soaps inspired by the sea. A native of Redondo Beach, California, she shares: “The beach has always been my lifelong companion through my rough waters and calm tides. I breathe, dream, sing, and dance to the beach. My soaps are my homage to the sea, and a way I can give back all that the sea has given me.” Learn more at www.soapseas.com.
